We Are The Champions.

The very versatile Kim Lee photographed with her three sons, Dexter (10 months), Oscar (2yrs) and Joshua (10yrs) at the end of her Henley Swim - Thames Marathon 10k last weekend. View this email in your browser Last weekend saw the final fixture in this year's Midlands T&F League competition with the club once again finishing in 1st place, which means we came first in all 3 of this year's league fixtures. A truly tremendous result by a team consisting of primarily junior members aided and abetted by some notable performances from some senior club members. Strength in depth is the name of the game. In this week's newsletter we have a " save the date " for the club's most important competitive event of the year - The Club Championships. This event is open to all members, juniors and seniors. Be there or be square! Many thanks and well done Stuart. As Stuart says, his reports will only be as good and as frequent as the race information he receives. So please can you let him know when you are running or have run. It's a case of another week another challenge completed by one of the talented and versatile Lee family. This week it's Kim completing the Henley Swim - Thames Marathon 10k. Last Friday evening at the Stratford track saw the final of 3 Super2 competitors take place with some extremely impressive performance from our junior members, who were once again supported by volunteer officials, coaches and the few parents. Whilst the event is competitive, in some cases this is the first opportunity for an athlete, particularly the youngsters, to enjoy the thrill of competition and to pit themselves against their peers but it is more important to compete against the clock and the tape measure and to try to either set a personal best or improve an existing one. We have applied for the event to be licensed by UKA and led by our volunteer trained officials, supported by the club coaches and parents, which means results can be submitted to the Power of10 although they reserve the right to accept or…
